Our Legacy

It’s the synthesis of heritage, loyalty and emotion that accounts for the success of the Myconian Collection founded by our parents George and Eleftheria Daktylides in 1979. From humble beginnings, the family-owned business expanded with a commitment to Greek hospitality, personalized service, and breathtaking locations. Today the fourteen hotels managed by the sons of the founders are among the leading luxury destinations in the Aegean. As four brothers with longstanding ties to local suppliers and deep roots on the island, we continue to balance tradition with innovation to ensure that Mykonos remains an unforgettable destination for generations to come.

On the South-east coast, the Ambassador Relais & Châteaux presides over the bay of Platis Gialos, flanked by famous beaches that include the ultra-glamorous Psarou, Agia Anna and Paranga. While the beach offers a variety of sports and entertainment, the pool deck is a haven of tranquillity above it all, and a superb spa and restaurant complement the classic elegance of this first 5-star establishment on the island.
In this beautiful bay famed for its long, fine sand beach, crystalline waters, great tavernas and an array of water sports, the Collection offers a variety of options: there’s Panoptis Escape, a member of Small Leading Hotels of the World, the Utopia Relais & Châteaux, trendsetting Avaton Design Hotel, the luxurious Myconian Villa Collection, a Preferred Hotels & Resorts, as well as the Imperial and Royal resorts – both proud members of Leading Hotels of the World.
Poised above Mykonos town, Deos is a true sanctuary, in a world of its own surrounded by natural beauty, yet a short walk down scenic steps to the promenade of the old port. And on the other side of town, overlooking the iconic windmills, you’ll find the trio of exceptional 5-star destinations which have risen up from the site where our father George placed the first stone of the Collection in 1979 : the Kyma Design Hotel, the charming boutique-sized beauty of Naia and the Korali Relais & Châteaux.
Directly on the beach, the Myconian O is all about connecting to the outdoors and to the spirit of Greek island summers. Luxurious suites with private terraces and expansive public spaces balance tranquillity and entertainment, while the pool deck is the centre of the action. Within a few minutes of Ornos beach, Kove Mykonos is a new age take on the Cycladic vernacular, with a constellation of whitewashed rooms and panoramic rooftops, an award-winning spa in a cave, and a regular yoga schedule.
Sunrise Beach Hotel Relais & Châteaux is built in the traditional whitewashed Cycladic style and situated directly on its own private beach in one of the most beautiful, secluded bays on the island.
