Our History

The Myconian Collection Hotels & Resorts is a leading Mykonos hotel group of high end restaurants, hotels, villas, Thalasso & Spa centers and conference & wedding venues on the island of Mykonos. We are proud for every single exclusive family owned and privately run Mykonos hotel of ours in one of the most romantic and jet set destinations in the world. The Myconian Collection offers a wide range of accommodation to satisfy even the most demanding traveler, ranging from our family K Hotels in Mykonos town to the Royal Myconian Resort and Myconian Imperial & Thalasso Center on the famous Elia Beach.

The Myconian Collection Hotels & Resorts tradition in hospitality in Mykonos has roots dating back in 1979, when our founder Mr. George P Daktylides built his first hotel right next to the center of Mykonos town, a superior 3-star hotel, but avant garde for that time, called Kohili. A year later Mr. George P Daktylides opened his second Mykonos hotel, Korali and two more followed, Kyma and Kalypso. The success of the K-HOTELS made him realize that there was an increasing demand in Mykonos for tourists with high expectations.

With his 4 sons also showing a great interest in the hospitality industry Mr. George P Daktylides started his new project; deluxe beach front rooms & suites. In 1989 construction began on the idyllic beaches of Platy Yialos for a high quality hotel with an infrastructure being beyond the standards of any competitor at that time. The Myconian Ambassador Hotel was completed in 1992 with a capacity of 70 rooms offering an exquisite service and high-end amenities. Two more grand boutique luxurious Mykonos hotels & resorts completed the vision of Mr. George P Daktylides by the end of 2002, the Royal Myconian & Myconian Imperial & Thalasso Center.
